Eric C. Tanner worked as a law student intern at associate at Tanner & Associates, LLC before joining the firm as a full-time attorney in 2018 after he completed law school and became a member of the Mississippi Bar.  Eric’s experience with the firm while he was a student enabled him to jump right into handle some of the firm’s most complex criminal and civil litigation matters.  Eric works directly with clients in developing legal strategies and investigative plans that result in successful outcomes for our clients.  Eric’s attention to detail and tireless work ethic have help to engineer federal favorable settlements and resolutions in civil cases for the  plaintiffs and defendants we represent.  He has been instrumental, too, in helping our clients in federal and state criminal cases get the outcomes they seek.

 Eric is a devoted public servant.  He spearheads and executes Tanner & Associates’ LLC outreach and pro bono efforts.  He also works part time as a prosecutor in the Hinds County, Mississippi Prosecutor’s Office.  In that role, Eric’s practice focuses primarily on the investigation and prosecution of child protection and juvenile delinquency matters.  Eric handles preliminary hearings on serious state felony offenses and prosecutes misdemeanor criminal cases in Hinds County’s justice courts.

 Eric graduated law school at Mississippi College School of Law where he received the AmJur Award, an award given to the top student in a specified class, for Wills and Estates in the Fall of 2017.  Eric studied abroad in Lille, France during his second year of law school.  Eric is a 2013 graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he majored in Sociology.  Eric is also a proud alumnus of Jim Hill High School, where he graduated in 2008 and where he finished in the Top 10 of his graduating class.  Eric now resides in the Jackson, Mississippi area with his fiancé and daughter.
